Examination Cell of Govt. Polytechnic performs all activities involved in the conduction of Internal Assessments. They include:

  • Scheduling dates for conduction of Internal Assessments.
  • Conduction of Internal Assessments

Academic Rules and Regulations:

The following are academic rules and regulations to be followed by the students pursuing Diploma

Attendance: Each student has to maintain a minimum attendance of 75% in each subject. A provision for condonation of 15% of attendance is allowed on medical grounds. 

Internal Assessment: Internal Assessment carries a maximum of 25 marks.  For every subject, three Internal Assessment Tests of 20 marks each are conducted. All three test marks are considered for the calculation of IA marks of 20. Assignment/Activity carries 5 marks. Together it makes up to 25 marks of Internal Assessment. Internal assessment marks for drawing/ workshop/ practicals is based on the aggregate marks of all graded exercises (10 marks), tests (10 marks) and Activity (5 marks).

Duration of each semester is 16 weeks.The First IA test is conducted at the end of 6th week, second test at the end of 10th week and third test at the end of 14th week of the semester.

Minimum pass marks for theory subjects: A minimum of 35 marks out of 100 marks has to be scored in the end examination for each theory subject. A minimum of 45 marks out 125 marks has to be secured including internal assessment marks.

Minimum pass marks for practical subjects: A minimum of 25 marks out of 50 marks has to be scored in the end examination for each practical subject. A minimum of 35 marks out 75 marks has to be secured including internal assessment marks.

Declaration of semester results:

  1. First class with distinction – aggregate of 75% and above.
  2. First class – aggregate of 60% upto 75%
  3. Second class – aggregate upto 60%

Award of Diploma:

  1. First class with distinction – aggregate of 75% and above in 5th and 6th semester.
  2. First class – aggregate of 60% upto 75% in 5th and 6th semester.
  3. Second class – aggregate upto 60% in 5th and 6th semester.
